The company makes electronic health records for doctors, and currently has software for dermatologists, ophthalmologists, plastic surgeons, cosmetic surgeons, ENTs (or otolaryngologists), and orthopedic surgeons. Modernizing Medicine has a business model that employs practicing doctors to write the software for each specialty.
In March 2014, the company was chosen to participate in the IBM Watson Ecosystem in partnership with ''JAMA Dermatology''.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://finance.yahoo.com/news/modernizing-medicine-showcases-emr-system-134500919.html )〕 Dermatologists were able to ask questions, describe symptoms or search for information and statistics about different conditions.
